Amy Martin

Amy is a writer and painter who lives on a small island in the Pacific Northwest. Painting mainly in oils, her work reflects her passions for the outdoors and the creative arts. She’s been on the Camano Studio Tour since 2017, and appeared in a variety of art shows throughout the PNW. She graduated from Goddard College's MFA Creative Writing Program and has written a memoir titled Flight School, for which she is currently seeking an agent/publisher.

 

She served as a UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter Pilot in the U.S. Army from 2002-2010 where she flew medevac missions in the Military Assistance to Safety and Traffic (M.A.S.T) program in Alaska and V.I.P. and air assault in the Republic of Korea. Post Army, she spent five years at Boeing as a Change Specialist on the KC-46 Tanker and the 777X programs.

 

From 2020-2021, she freelanced as a ghostwriter and editor for CEOs, executives, and therapists. During the pandemic, she also served as a Veteran Benefits Specialist at Opportunity Council, a non-profit that assists homeless veterans in gaining housing stability. In 2021, she returned to the EMS rescue community as an Admin Manager/ Data Analyst at Camano Island Fire & Rescue.

 

Amy served several years on the board of the Camano Arts Association and headed the non-profit’s Communications Team.
